Busy Bossy Bison
So the past few weeks have been pretty busy. Aside from the usual crap, I’ve also got work for this competition with some friends, the BEST Competition. Contrary to popular belief, it is not the best competition, and I am not super excited about it as to capitalize it. It’s actually an acronym (nowai) standing for Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology. We’ve been spending nearly all our time over the weekend working on it, so I no longer have much time on the weekend until the final competition on Dec 04.
But being super busy hasn’t stopped me from procrastination. In fact, I wrote an eight page (sort of; also nine pages sort of depending on how you look at it) research paper Sunday night while it was assigned like two weeks prior. I then proceeded to screw around on the internet Monday after school instead of studying for the three tests I had the next day.
Anyway, we’re building a robot for the BEST Competition.
Just kidding. It looks a bit better than that (well, actually, not really). In addition, we were supplied with a box of materials including the necessary electronics to build the robot (FO’ FREE) so really, it can’t be too hard, right? Yeah, well, that didn’t really stop us from failing hard. Likely because none of us had any experience with this and as such had no idea what to do, things didn’t work out all that well.
There are two robots in the above picture. Ours is the one of the left, in case you couldn’t tell. And if you were the kid in red, you wouldn’t be able to tell because it would be on your right.
More news after the competition on the fourth.
